Answer: Yes! Both Drs. Timothy Wilson and Megan Jack are board-certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, a rigorous process that requires completion of an accredited plastic surgery residency program followed by a period of practice experience and written and oral examinations. By choosing a plastic surgeon certified by the ABPS, you can be assured that the surgeon has completed the appropriate training and passed the meticulous examination process. The Mission of The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and sub-specialists.
Answer: Yes! East Tennessee Plastic Surgery accepts cash, all major credit cards, and Care Credit 6-month financing option.

Answer: The best way to decide if plastic surgery is the right choice for you is to come visit us here at East Tennessee Plastic Surgery in West Knoxville! Your surgeon will assess your medical history, goals, expectations, and offer a personalized treatment plan and together with you decided if this is the right choice for you. Important things for you to consider in the meantime are:
Am I in relatively good health?
What are my specific goals and look I’m wanting to achieve?
What are my expectations for my results and are they realistic?
Answer: ETPS does not charge a consultation fee for injectable (Botox/filler) or primary Breast Augmentation appointments. All other cosmetic consultations require a $50 fee paid at the time of scheduling, which is applied to your surgery when booked.
Answer: As with any surgery or medical procedure, there is always risk involved even if it is rare and unusual. Each year millions of plastic surgeries and procedures are performed without complications, but a discussion of risks/complications are always a part of every consultation at East Tennessee Plastic Surgery. Our surgeons make assessments at your initial consultation to ensure you are a good candidate for the desired procedure and healthy enough to undergo any surgery. They discuss the procedure with you in detail and describe what you can expect and what could happen; if indicated, they will request medical clearance for surgery from your doctor. They also provide you with detailed post-operative instructions to help minimize the risks and to optimize your results. ETPS goes above and beyond to ensure you receive exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgery to get your surgery done safely, get your goals met, and make you feel supported throughout your recovery.
Answer: Our goal at East Tennessee Plastic Surgery in Knoxville is to make you feel heard, understood, comfortable, and like part of our family. We want you to be free to share your concerns in our inviting, judgement-free zone with the privacy and confidentiality you deserve. We understand it can be intimidating to reveal your inner thoughts, what makes you feel self-conscious, and to expose sometimes sensitive areas of your body to people you just met. At your consultation, you will meet our welcoming, sweet staff and have time to sit with Dr. Wilson or Dr. Jack and discuss what’s really bothering you. They will discuss your medical history, perform an examination, go over their recommendations, and explain what you can expect with any recommended procedure(s). You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We will then provide you with up front, transparent pricing for their recommendation.
Answer: If you’d like you can complete your New Patient Paperwork ahead of time and bring it with you to your first visit. Identify the concerns you want to discuss with us and what your specific goals are. If you aren’t sure, that’s ok too—Dr. Wilson and Dr. Jack can help walk you through that process if needed. You can also make a list of questions you might want to ask about the procedure you may want – a good reference to find questions by procedure can be found at https://www.surgery.org/consumers/procedures. If you have breast implants already, bring your implant card with you if possible; and for all breast surgeries, we appreciate you bringing your most recent breast imaging report. Finally, you can identify some “goal photos” and bring those with you on your phone/email. Those are helpful for us to really get a visual of what you’re going for and can help us make sure your expectations and goals are realistic for what’s possible for you.
Answer: Every patient reacts differently to surgery and pain. Our surgeons make every effort to make you as comfortable as possible after your surgery. They will give you specific post-operative instructions as well as techniques and medications to help reduce your discomfort as much as possible. We pride ourselves on close follow-up and exceptional care during your recovery and beyond. For some patients, they may utilize a special medication called Exparel (a long-acting, non-opioid numbing medicine which has eased many of our patients’ recoveries. Sometimes, we’re having to slow them down and remind them they’re recovering! We will provide you with all the information and tools you need to make your recovery journey as easy as possible. Recovery time will vary depending on the specific surgery from a few hours (very minor procedures and injectables) to several weeks. We will discuss your estimated recovery time at your consultation. None of our patients are on bed-rest after surgery—we absolutely want you up and walking, doing light activities, and eventually exercising as soon as it’s safe to do so!
Answer: East Tennessee Plastic Surgery has a AAAHC certified Operating Suite where our surgeons can perform procedures under local or IV sedation; nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is available for some procedures for your comfort. For operations requiring general anesthesia, both Dr. Wilson and Dr. Jack have operating and admitting privileges at the esteemed Parkwest Medical Center, right next door to our office building! Most elective surgeries we perform are outpatient, meaning you get to go home the same day as your surgery!
